Husband on attempted murder charge bailed

A 48-YEAR-old man charged with one count of attempted murder had his bail extended by Suva High Court judge Justice Chamath Morais.

Rakesh Chand is alleged to have tried to suffocate his 43-year-old wife with a pillow on June 26 in Nausori.

State lawyer Kimberley Semisi has filed the information and disclosures and defence lawyer Tirath Sharma has sought time to advice his client on the plea.

The matter has been adjourned to August 17 for mention.
