HUNDREDS of people poured into Ba to pay their final respects to Anandilal Amin, a respected and prominent Ba resident who spent his life devoted to arts and culture.

While speaking at the funeral, Indian High Commissioner Vishvas Sapkal said it was a very sad day for everyone.

“When I first visited Ba, the first person whose home I went to was Anandilal’s home,” Mr Sapkal said.

“I was able to meet the late Jogindar Kanwal and Vinod Patel at his home. Whenever we had an event for the Indian High Commission, any program that was in Ba or Lautoka, Anandi-bhai (brother) used to be there.”

He is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren.

Mr Amin was a prominent singer and devoted his life to arts and culture.
