Housing project to end soon

WORK on the Tavakubu housing development project in Lautoka is continuing.

Local Government Minister Parveen Kumar said they were aiming to get the project up and running before its projected completion date.

“I can say that the work is in progress and maybe we will get that subdivision before the time we have set for them because of the weather, which is very favourable now,” he said.

“We have asked the contractor to do a fast track on that so we can start allocating the lots to the successful bidders.”

The Housing Authority aims to develop 70 acres of land to give more than 500 families the chance to build their own homes.

The project is expected to be completed by next year.
