SAMABULA Senior Citizens Home residents celebrated the birthday of fellow resident Benina Cirivesi who turned 102-years-old.

Ms Cirivesi who was blessed to have reached a milestone celebrated her special day with her family, friends including the Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Mereseini Vuniwaqa, and the Permanent Secretary, Dr Josefa Koroivueta.

Ms Vuniwaqa said it was an opportunity to recognise the number of years that she had attained and contributed to the society.

“A lot of them have been forgotten by family and friends and this kind of occasion is an opportunity to bring in those people,” she said.

Ms Vuniwaqa added it was important for everyone to cherish their loved ones, especially those who were living in the different Homes around the country.
