HMNZS Taupo concludes surveillance operation in Fiji

THE Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN) inshore patrol vessel, HMNZS Taupo has concluded its surveillance operation in the country.

In a bid to send clear message to those considering illegal fishing activity, New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) had inspected 140 vessels so far.

Earlier this morning, HMNZS Taupo also conducted a a joint navy exercise with the French Naval Ship La Moqueuse on waters of Southeast of Suva.

Commanding Officer of HMNZS Taupo Lieutenant Ben Flight said they conducted a passive exercise with the French Navy.

“This means two vessel sailing side by side with each other,” Lieutenant Flight said
