ALL divisional and subdivisional health facilities in the country have resumed normal operations.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Health and Medical Services said clinical services at the CWM Hospital, Lautoka Hospital and Labasa Hospital were now fully operational.
Health Minister Rosy Akbar said the health and emergency operations centre based at the ministry’s headquarters in Suva was working closely with the divisional health emergency operations team and the National Disaster Management Office to provide health interventions and support services.
Ms Akbar visited flood-affected areas on Wednesday with a team from the Ministry’s environmental health unit during her visitation to communities in Sigatoka, Nadi and Lautoka.
The statement said a team from the Fiji Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Services had also visited health facilities in the Western Division to ensure basic medicines were available as well.
Flood-affected families were also given WASH and hygiene kits.
The ministry said health outreach teams continued to provide health checks and care for those in need of health care services.
