THE Fiji National University and The Pacific Community (SPC) has joined hands to develop a health project highlighting child obesity.

The project titled “Healthy Child Promising Future – Promoting health in primary school settings” was submitted by FNU for French Pacific Fund 2017 and targets primary school children from the ages of seven to nine-years-old who live in Wallis and Futuna and Fiji.

The project has a global approach towards addressing childhood obesity where teachers and parents also play a crucial role in the project.

It was recently launched in schools in Wallis and Futuna and at Samabula Primary School here in Fiji.
