Health ministry creates awareness in flood affected areas

Update: 6:56PM THE Ministry of Health and Medical Services has begun creating awareness in spraying areas affected by flooding in the Labasa area.

Commissioner
Northern Jovesa Vocea said the Department of Health is taking control
measures to address the possible spread of diseases like dengue fever, and
water borne diseases following the current adverse weather conditions. 

“Awareness
has been raised to members of the public on the importance of boiling water
before drinking considering the water cuts in some areas,” Mr Vocea said.

Mr Vocea
said he has been advised by the Water Authority of Fiji department in Labasa
that water supply in the area would return to normalcy after two days.
