Group signs contract with construction company

THE tender for the iconic Fijian Holdings Ltd tower was awarded to China Railway Group, with the contract agreement signed by the two parties in Suva yesterday.

FHL board chairman Adrian Sofield said the FHL Tower was going to be an iconic building for the Capital City and they expected very high standards.

Mr Sofield said they were confident that CRG would ensure their expectations were met. At a press conference and signing of the contract yesterday,

Mr Sofield said there was a very detailed and transparent tender process with 11 companies applying for the tender for the project.

He said out of the 11 companies they shortlisted three and then selected CRG for the project.

Mr Sofield said FHL Group was a very diversified investment company and had interests in manufacturing, retail and tourism, to name a few.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the 17-storey FHL Tower will take place today with construction expected to be completed by 2021.
