THE Government is aware of the metal and machinery lying on the Sigatoka River banks.
Minister for Local Government, Housing, Environment, Infrastructure and Transport Parveen Kumar made this known in Parliament yesterday after a supplementary question was posed to him from the Opposition side.
Opposition MP Niko Nawaikula had asked Mr Kumar if the Minister was aware of the neglected pieces of metal and machinery left there by the workers who were possibly employed by the Government, and ways they would remove that.
Mr Kumar replied they were very much aware of it.
“Right now, we are talking about the retaining wall, that is the subject matter before us but I know very well that the Ministry for Lands and Mineral Resources is attending to that,” Mr Kumar said.
