FIJI Senior Golfers Association (FSGA) is hosting its annual golf open tournament at the Fiji Golf Club course in Vatuwaqa, Suva next week.

This year’s tournament will be held over three days which are on September 17, 19 and 20.

Association president Vijay Madhavan said this year would be the 37th year of the tournament.

“This event is a stroke event and is open to the FSGA members and golfers over the age of 55,” said Madhavan.

“Our deep appreciation to the sponsorship and support of the management and staff of Shipping Services Ltd.”

The defending champions for the men’s division is Vijay Goundan and for the women is Lyndall Fisher.

In addition to the golf open tournament, the FSGA is also organising the Jack Akbar Trophy that is set to be held today at the Fiji Golf Club course.

It is expected to start at midday and will honour the late Jack Akbar, a club member and renowned businessman and engineering expert.
