FIJI has entered a golden age in education and opportunity of a lifetime.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama highlighted this while officiating at the University of the South Pacific open day today.

He said with over $1 billion dollars being allocated to the education sector for this year’s 2018/2019 national budget, this was the single biggest allocation for any Government initiative.

“That is a reflection of my long-standing belief that education is the most vital investment any leader can make not only in his or her people, but for the very future of the country they serve,” Mr Bainimarama said.

He adds with the government initiatives currently in place he expect students to take full advantage of it.

“I expect you’ll work hard, that you will build on that progress we’ve already made, that you will go on to find jobs and create jobs in our growing economy, and that you will continue Fiji’s unprecedented momentum forward,” he said.

“In that mission you cannot falter, and you cannot afford to repeat any of the past mistakes made in our nation’s history.”
