Update: 12:48PM FIJI’S Minister for Youth and Sports Laisenia Tuitubou officially presented the team jerseys to the men’s national sevens team this morning on the Gold Coast in Australia.

He reminded the players to play as a team and to stick to their game plan.

“Firstly, I would like to thank you all for your outstanding performance in Hong Kong last week. I encourage you all to continue with your outstanding performance and play as a team. I would like to wish you all the best on behalf of the President, our Prime Minister and the people of Fiji,” Mr Tuitubou said while presenting the jerseys.

He said the team needed to be consistent and treat each opponent with the respect that they deserved.

“You are representing our nation and will be competing against the best to win the gold medal in sevens for the first time.

“Give due respect to the other team, display good sportsmanship, trust in God and have the belief in each other – these will ensure our victory.”
