MORE than 70 youths from the Wesley Church in the Northern and Western divisions gathered at the Sabeto Christian Camp, Nadi last week.

While most parents were looking for meaningful ways to engage their children during the second-term school holidays, Wesley Church members put together a fun-filled but spiritually uplifting program for their youths.

Camp spiritual adviser and program coordinator Pastor Emosi Meo said he was touched by the stories shared by the youths.

“There was not a single dry eye during the testimonies that were shared,” he said.

“Our youth have been through a lot and it is amazing to see that despite all that they have experienced, they are able to come and express their faith in such a powerful way during this camp.”

Lautoka Wesley City Mission youth leader Keshia Sariri said lessons learned during the camp had opened the eyes of the youth to their identity.

“We are all created in the image of God and if we can just treat one another with that kind of respect then a lot of the problems that we are facing will no longer be problems but learning experiences in our journey through life,” she said.
