RESORT workers from three major hotels in the Coral Coast had a special day to enjoy each other company at the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa for the first ever Hoteliers Fun Day.

The event hosted by the Natadola-based resort was an initiative by the hotel’s Human Resources Department in light of the removal of the annual Bilibili Race because of low water levels at the Sigatoka River.

Hoteliers Fun Day was held along the Tuva river banks located near Natadola Beach where kayak races and waitress relays were held alongside tug-o-war battles and a mixed volleyball tournament.

InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa area general manager South Pacific Andrew Davidson said the event encouraged team building and built confidence while enhancing individual skills in a team environment.

“We hope to turn this happy fun day into an annual sporting event to be enjoyed by employees of hotels and resort,” he said. Other resorts included Fiji Marriot Resort Momi Bay and Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort.

The Hoteliers Fun Day was held on September 14.
