FRA to conduct underground works on Kings Rd

THE Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) will be carrying out planned underground works on Kings Rd from Nakasi to Nausori this Saturday, September 8 – which is likely to affect traffic.
According to the advisory issued from FRA, the works will involve Water Authority of Fiji and Telecommunication Fiji Ltd.’s underground crossing construction on Kings Road from Nakasi to Nausori.

As a consequence, the main highway from Nakasi to Nausori will be affected from 9pm Saturday until 5am on Sunday, September 9.

During this time, the following traffic diversion options will be applicable to suit the site conditions:

– stop and go traffic control shall be maintained throughout the duration of the works;

– diversion of Traffic on either side or both sides of the road shoulders;

– members of the public are advised to follow the Stop and Go signs.

“Members of the public are requested to strictly adhere to the traffic management signage in place to ensure the safety of other motorists and workmen alike,” FRA chief executive officer Jonathan Moore stated in the advisory.
“Travelers along this area are advised to take this notice into account when finalising travel plans. We apologise for any inconvenience.”
