FRA directed to review policy on road humps

THE Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has been directed by the Office of the Prime Minister to review their policy on the banning of road humps.
Commissioner Northern Jovesa Vocea said this followed several requests from villages and settlements for the implementation of humps to discourage speeding drivers.
Responding to requests for humps to be installed at Navakaka and Valeni in Wailevu, Cakaudrove, Mr Vocea said for the time being, nothing could be done because road humps had been scrapped by the FRA.
He said the review would begin on Tuesday next week where they would sit with FRA and discuss the pros and cons of road humps before making a decision on whether it had to be brought back or otherwise.
