FRA calls for tenders on bridge

A REQUEST for tender on the Tavualevu bridge will close on May 25.

The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) said the long term plan was to replace the bridge.

A bailey bridge has been completed on Kings Road, which is presently keeping the Queens and Kings Roads open. The existing bridge is only open to pedestrian access.

FRA said the Tavualevu bridge was one of seven in the Western Division that was slated for replacement.

The remaining are bridges at Korovou, Maururu, Velovelo, Vutuna, and Matewale.
