Forum talks focus on economic performance, budget

Update: 5:00PM THE focus of the day at the 2015 special Budget Forum is the discussion of the 2013 economy performance growth and the upcoming budget for the country.
Different stakeholders from the business sector, private sector and the parliament ministers were part of the special budget forum today at the Grand Pacific Hotel.
Prime Minister Rear Admiral (Ret) Voreqe Bainimarama in opening the forum said Fiji has had a few couple of great years especially in infrastructure which has been accompanied by significant private investment as confidence in Fiji grows.
“We must also work together to capitalise on the renewed confidence in Fiji that has accompanied both the election and our comprehensive reform program over the past eight years,” Mr Bainimarama said.
Construction or infrastructure development, manufacturing and agriculture are some of the sectors that have contributed significantly to the economic growth for this year while mining and fishing has dropped.
