Helen Clark, former Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), will travel to Solomon Islands for a four-day visit next week from 20 – 23 August.

HONIARA, 16 AUGUST 2018 (UNDP) – Helen Clark, former Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), will travel to Solomon Islands for a four-day visit next week from 20 – 23 August.

Clark was Prime Minister of New Zealand for three successive terms from 1999 to 2008, and she was the first woman to be elected as Prime Minister in New Zealand.

Clark is visiting Solomon Islands to engage with women, youth and national leaders to share her experience and discuss leadership, political participation and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Clark will deliver the keynote address during the training, which will connect intending and aspiring women candidates from Solomon Islands with prominent women political leaders from the Pacific region.
