Update: 1:50PM ABOUT 701 applications have been paid out by the Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF) to flood victims in the Western Division to date totalling $572,000.
FNPF chief executive officer Jaoji Koroi confirmed this in a statement issued today advising members of the public that the fund would suspend inspection of flood-affected areas in the Western Division from this afternoon.
This is part of the fund’s precautionary measures to the adverse weather.
However, he said inspection would resume and FNPF offices would reopen when the weather improves.
“Teams will continue to process applications that have been received despite the suspension of inspection and closure of offices,” Mr Koroi said.
All FNPF offices in the Western Division will also close for business this afternoon from 1pm; all remaining offices will close from 3pm.
