Fishing vessel on fire in Suva harbour

FIJIAN navy officers and staff from Fiji Ports Corporation Limited are now at a fire scene where a fishing vessel is on fire in the Suva harbour.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed the fishing vessel called Tuipuga caught fire last night.

She said officers from the Water Police Unit are at the fire scene.

The Tuipuga is a Tuvaluan long line fishing vessel that arrived into the country on Tuesday, June 12, 2018.

It is owned by Friendly Tuna Fishing Corporation.
