THE Pacific Physical Training Instructor Course(PPTIC) will commence from next Tuesday until June 1 at the Fiji Police Force Academy at Nasova in Suva.
The PPTIC is being co-hosted between the New Zealand Defence Force(NZDF) and the Republic of Fiji Military Forces(RFMF) and is the first of its kind to be held in the Pacific region.
Chief instructor flight sergeant Leo Wiapo of the RNZAF, said a stringent high standard requirements was set for participants wanting to take part in the training.
“It was a motivating factor for them turning up physically for the course. The course will be very tough and physical,” Sergeant Wiapo said.
“The suggested requirements and minimum fitness levels for the training was that participants had to run 2.4 kilometres in under 10minutes and 30 seconds for females and under 10 minutes for the males. Forty push-ups for the men and recommended push ups for women were 30.”
He added the course would be run according to participants ability levels.
