THE MH warehouse and Carpenters administration building in Walu Bay, Suva was destroyed by a fire yesterday afternoon.

Six fire trucks were at the scene at the time of the incident, preventing the fire from spreading to other nearby buildings and a fuel depot.

Police had to cordon off the Walu Bay industrial area as people turned out in numbers to take pictures.

Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police Maretino Qiolevu said the road leading into Walu Bay had to be sealed off to ensure everyone’s safety.

Traffic was redirected to Reservoir Rd and Edinburgh Drive.

Confirming the incident yesterday, the National Fire Authority said the blaze also injured a worker.

The authority said a total of six fire trucks and more than 70 firefighters were engaged to put out the massive fire.

Investigations into the fire continues.
