NEWCOMER Finau Vuliamerika is eager to stamp his mark in this week’s Coca-Cola Maritime Zone competition.

The Adi Moapa Secondary School student will compete in the inter boys javelin category.

Finau said his target was to win gold medal for his school so he could battle against the best from other top schools in next weekend’s Coca-Cola Games.

“This is my first year in the competition and I am ready to give my best for my school,” he said.

“I have only heard about the Coke Games through my friends but to compete for this year’s event is an honour.

“I have trained hard in the island and my aim is to win gold medal for my school.”

Finau said a win at the Maritime Zone would give him the opportunity to fulfil his goal.

“Battling against top athletes from Natabua, Marist, RKS and Suva Grammar School will inspire me to do better.”

“I am ready for the challenge but first up is to qualify through the Maritime Zone before I can focus on the Coca-Cola Games.”

He said he wanted to dedicate his game to his parents back in Vanuabalavu.
