THE investigation file of a 14-year-old boy who allegedly raped a seven-year-old boy will be sent to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).

Police have already interviewed the boy, but released him as they needed to consult the ODPP.

Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro confirmed the files would be forwarded to the ODPP for sanctioning.

She earlier confirmed that the alleged incident happened in the North this year. Four days ago, the suspect was questioned at the Taveuni police station and was accompanied by his parents.

The alleged matter was reported last week.

“The report was lodged by the turaganikoro. “It allegedly happened in a village,” Ms Naisoro said.

“The alleged incident occurred between the months of April and May this year. “The victim reported the matter to his teacher who reported it to the turaganikoro.”
