Fiji’s U19 Bula Boys to play for Nabou victims

THE Vodafone Fiji Under-19 football team is gearing up for the next battle ahead of them in the OFC U19 Championship in Tahiti.

Coach Bal Sanju Reddy said the boys knew what was expected of them come match time against Solomon Islands.

The entire team was saddened to learn of the tragic accident at Nabou and the young Bula Boys will be play for them in the remaining games.

“Our deepest sympathy is with the families of the seven victims of the Nabou accident in Fiji, and prayers are with those fighting for their lives in the hospital. Our young Bula Boys have mentioned them in our prayers and will be playing for them in the remaining games,” Reddy said.

“The preparation is going on quite well as everyone is expecting a tough encounter with both Fiji and Solomons entering the match with a win each.

“We have left behind the first win and boys have been urged to get their focus for our next game.

“We have identified our mistakes from the first game and working on it for improvements.”

The team has also been boosted with the arrival of the national head coach, Christophe Gamel.

Fiji plays Solomon Islands at 1pm (Fiji time) today.
