FIJI’S deputy commissioner of Police Isikeli Sauliga has passed away following a short illness.

Commissioner of Police Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho confirmed that DCP Sauliga passed away at the Wellington Hospital on Tuesday August 28.

The late Deputy Commissioner was on leave in New Zealand at the time of his death.

“We are saddened by the loss of our Deputy Commissioner who at the age of 53 had a proud policing career serving in Fiji and in overseas missions,” Brig-Gen Qiliho said in a statement.

“DCP Sauliga had on many occasions held the post of Acting Commissioner of Police and was a loyal member of the Fiji Police Force and his services will be missed by all members of the policing family.”

DCP Sauliga was from Nadogo, Saqani in the province of Cakaudrove and is survived by his wife and six children.
