THE Fiji under-16 and U18 rugby teams have conducted their first scrimmage sessions together at Bidesi ground in Suva yesterday.

The purpose of this drill was to review and analyse the areas that both teams need to improve on before they leave for the New Zealand and Australia tour.

Fiji under-16 coach Masi Saqanavere said both teams still needed to improve in some of the areas but was happy on the progress of the teams.

“I’m happy on how both team have progressed and the performance have been consistence from the start but it does not mean everything is Ok,” said Saqanavere.

“I believe there are still some areas we need to work on especially working off the ball because many time we are lazy in our defence.

“After this session we will go back, and watch the videos and look for our strength and weaknesses which we need to improve in our next scrimmages.”

Meanwhile, technical coaches Viliame Gadolo and former Fiji rugby players Kele Leawere and Sireli Bobo were assisting the teams during this session.
