A TOTAL of 602 new police officers will be brought into the Fiji Police Force during this financial year.

This was revealed by Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho at the opening of the newly-renovated Sawani Community Police Post on Saturday.

Mr Qiliho said the police force would soon grow by 602 in this financial year.

“For this financial year, we have been budgeted to regularise some of those stations that were created without manpower,” Mr Qiliho said.

He said in order for that to be done, the recruits had to be taken through the four-month recruitment process.
