THE Fiji Police Force acknowledges police prosecutors, especially when there are a lot of challenges faced in court.
This was highlighted by Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu while closing the Advanced Prosecution Course at Suvavou House in Suva today.
ACP Tudravu said Fiji Police encouraged and fully supported the training initiatives of the 27 police officers in the last six weeks.
“Practically in the court house, we are having a lot of challenges and the organisation is very much indebted to our constables that are here,” ACP Tudravu said.
“Most of them are prosecuting in our course as special constable, that is something that is really a challenge for us up in the headquarters to get them recognised and this was not done before in the Fiji Police.”
He said before, regular officers were normally assigned to handle the prosecution, but given the demand that was out there and the lack of officers, there were special constables that stepped up and had reputable careers in prosecution.
