Fiji FA postpones games

THE Fiji Football Association has postponed all scheduled matches that were to be played this weekend.

Fiji FA national competitions manager Amitesh Pal said in view of the recent flooding caused by Tropical Cyclone Josie they decided to take this action.

“The flooding occurred in most parts of the country during the Easter long weekend and it had a big impact on people, especially the players, officials and their families,” Pal said.

“Furthermore there are damage to the grounds and other facilities that are used for the matches.

“Our sympathy and well wishes are with those who have been affected by the flooding and cyclone especially the players who are the major stakeholders of the sport.”

The competition will resume on April 13.

The postponed competitions are as follows: Vodafone Premier League 2018, Vodafone Senior League 2018 (Viti Levu Zone), Vodafone Senior League 2018 (Vanua Levu Zone), Vodafone U18 Girls League 2018 (Southern Zone), Vodafone U18 Girls League 2018 (Western Zone), Vodafone U18 Girls League 2018 (Northern Zone), Vodafone U19 Youth League 2018 (Southern Zone), Vodafone U19 Youth League 2018 (Western Zone), Vodafone U19 Youth League 2018 (Northern Zone), Vodafone U16 Youth League 2017 (Northern Zone), Vodafone U16 Youth League 2017 (Southern Zone), Vodafone U16 Youth League 2017 (Western Zone).
