Fights will continue

ALL fights in the Kiran Boxing Promotions program scheduled to be held at the Tilak High School Hall in Lautoka tomorrow will go ahead as planned.
This is despite the cancellation of major sporting events including football and rugby because of of Tropical Cyclone Keni, which earlier this week, caused widespread flooding in most parts of the country.
Promoter Krishna Mudliar said, “The fights will go ahead as per schedule.
“All the boxers are well prepared. The tickets are on sale at Kiran Palace, Kiran’s Bottle Mart, Hotel Martintar and Lales Millennium.”
The main bout will be between Ronald Naidu and Rakuro Daunivanana. They will face off in the 8×3 minutes welterweight clash. This will be the second fight between the two. The first was also held at the Tilak High Scholl Hall in November last year.
The contest ended in a draw after eight rounds.
According to boxrec.com, Naidu holds a record of six wins, two losses and three draws while Daunivanana has two wins, one loss and a draw. The weigh-in will start at 3pm at the Kiran Palace Hotel in Lautoka today.
Tickets: Ringside $20. Gates will open at 4.30pm and the program will start at 5.30pm.
