FHL backs music awards

THE Fiji Performing Rights Association (FPRA) received $5500 from the Fijian Holdings Ltd towards its annual awards night later this year.

The assistance was handed to FPRA for the Best New Artist Category for this year’s awards which will be held at the Grand Pacific Hotel (GPH) in May.

FHL group chief executive officer Nouzab Fareed said this was the first time the company was sponsoring an event associated with FPRA.

“It is a privilege for us, FHL, which is a company that is 100 per cent owned by iTaukei,” Mr Fareed said.

“This is a new avenue where we are encouraging young artists who are not in this business to come show your talents. We want to recognise new talents. That is why we are sponsoring the Best New Artist Category.”
