REPRESENTING Fiji at the national level has been a dream made true for Fiji rugby under-16 player Daniel Fereti.

He never thought that one day he would be at Borron House to be farewelled by the President of Fiji, Joji Konrote.

“It is very exciting and I am honoured to be part of a great team,” he said.

“Training for the last couple of weeks has been tough but doing it with the team has been fun as well.”

In a team dominated by powerhouse schools in Fiji and Fereti attend Suva Grammar School and considers himself lucky to have made it this far.

“It really is amazing coming this far, it’s through God and I give the glory back to him,” he said.

“I also thank my parents or their hard work and never ending support.”

The lock forward’s size and strength will contribute tremendous power to the young forward pack.

Fereti says the players are all fired up and ready for the upcoming games.

“We have prepared well and hopefully we will smash the other teams”.

The under-16 rugby team departs later this week for the Junior Rugby Championship which will be held in Australia on September 28 to October 6.
