THE Fijian Elections office has launched their live feed which will be placed in key locations for Fijians to access and watch the process of the upcoming 2018 General Elections.

The live feed can be accessed through their facebook page on Fiji Elects 2018.

The launch also coincided with the launch of their results app in Suva yesterday.

Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem said the feed is currently being tested in their warehouse in Laucala Beach where all the ballot boxes were being stored.

“This demo is going to remain live for the four the next four days as we are testing the network strength from that facility, testing the down time, testing our backup facility at the event where the internet is slow or there is down time we are also testing whether the cameras can handle it and whether the DVR can handle pushing this out on a 24/7 basis,” he said.

He said this would enable Fijians to see the exact process during the elections.

“The live feed that we demo-ed to you today (yesterday) will be placed on the counts center, results center as well as the packing arena as we have advised,” he said.

“We want Fijians to be able to see the actual process taking place, in the 2108 general elections we will try our best to show all the elections processes for all voters and Fijian to decide.”
