THE number of spectators on every first day of the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s is always the same and this year is no different.

With the heavy downpour and a low turnout in the number of fans, organiser of the Marist 7s tournament Lawrence Tikaram said this was always expected on day one.

“A lot of people are at work today (yesterday) and tomorrow (today) we expect Fijian 7s fans to come out in full force and show World Rugby we are committed to the bid of hosting a tournament of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series,” he said.

“We expect a full house today.

“Big teams in the tournament are on show and fans will not want to miss the chance of watching their stars come day two.”

The second round of elimination and the finals will be held today.
