ILAMI Susu says having faith in small things will help you achieve big things in future.
The 23-year-old Sabeto, Nadi player has owed it to his parents for the sacrifice they have done for him and his older sister to achieve their dreams.
Susu is a member of the Fiji Residents in the Battle of the Bati in Suva tomorrow.
“As the youngest in the family, I am the cheekiest, always give headache to my parents, but they never gave up on me. My journey in playing rugby league started with the Sabeto Roosters and last year I joined the Nadi Aviators in the inter-zone competition and I am thankful to my clubs for having faith in me.
“One thing for sure is the brotherly love between the players and me. They had to share their boots with me because I didn’t have one; it was the bond between players that made us win the Vodafone inter-zone championship for the second time.
“That bond we had to carry it where we go and for me I am sharing it with my fellow teammates.”
Susu, who has maternal links to Oneata, Lau said nothing was impossible if you just believed even if you were a farmer you could still reach the top of the world.
“For me I look up to Semi Radradra as my inspiration because the way he plays and tackle, his defence and how he was brought up, the challenges he went through to get to where he is now. If I get chosen to be part of the Fiji Bati team it’s an icing on the cake and a blessing to me and my family.”
