Expect more severe weather

Update: 6:59PM CITIZENS must remain alert in the next week as forecasters predict worse weather including severe flooding.
The Fiji Metereology Service said the cyclone season which ends in April may bring more bad weather into the weeks after month end.
The weather office continues to apply a a strong wind warning for land areas of Southern Lau while a heavy rain warning is in force for the Yasawas, Vanua Levu, Taveuni and the nearby smaller islands of Lau and Lomaiviti.
“An active trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain continues to affect the northern parts of the group. It is expected to gradually move south and affect the rest of the country tomorrow,” the weather office said.
