EU looks to improve ties with Fiji, Pacific

THE European Union is looking to continuously invest in its cooperation with Fiji and the Pacific.
While speaking at the Europe Day celebration at the Fiji Museum in Suva last night, EU ambassador to Fiji and the Pacific Julian Wilson highlighted one opportunity that was the Economic Partnership Agreement that Fiji was yet to ratify.
“Fiji has signed the EPA and once it ratifies, it will be able to enjoy great advantages,” Mr Wilson said.
The event was attended by President Jioji Konrote, Chief Justice Anthony Gates, Speaker to Parliament Dr Jiko Luveni, members of the diplomatic corps, civil societies and the greater international community. Europe Day is equivalent to an EU national day.
