FIJI needs to equip its future generations to be life-long learners and with the ability to learn how to learn so that they can keep abreast of changes and become active and valuable members of our community.

Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism Faiyaz Koya made this comment while officiating at the Pre-School Week celebrations at Krishna Vedic Kindergarten School, in Nausori, yesterday.

Mr Koya stressed the importance of family because they played an equally-critical role in the development of a child and that parents were also instrumental in the personal growth and attitude of children towards life.

He said that a challenge for parents and educators was to equip children with the knowledge, skills, and values for all-round and whole-person development.

However, Mr Koya reiterated that it was the Government’s vision to enable all the children to develop their potential to the fullest extent.
