WORKPLACE injuries continue to be a concern for the Ministry of Employment, Industry Relations and Productivity.
While speaking in Lautoka yesterday, Minister for Employment Jone Usamate said a total of 1443 workplace injuries were recorded in 2017 alone.

“This is equal to 4329 lost days for 2017 or 361 lost days per month,” he said.

“The total number of workplace fatalities over the past three years has slightly decreased with 2017 recording a total of seven workplace fatalities. This is compared with nine fatalities recorded in 2015 and seven workplace fatalities recorded in 2016.”
