Elderly man dies in Nausori fire

A SEVENTY-year-old man lost his life in an afternoon blaze in Corbett Avenue squatter settlement in Waila, Nausori yesterday.
The man has been identified as Livai Rokosenivau who was alone at home at the time of the tragic incident.
His granddaughter Losana Matainikailevuka said the family members had gone for a family trip to Rakiraki.
She said their grandfather would be greatly missed by all his loved ones.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed the victim was only discovered after the fire officers completed attending to the fire.
She said the two-bedroom house made of roofing iron and timber was completely destroyed.
Investigations have now begun.
