EFL to develop more renewable energy projects

ENERGY Fiji Limited is looking to develop more renewable energy projects.

While speaking at the Top Executive Conference at the Sofitel Resort and Spa in Nadi, EFL CEO Hasmukh Patel said they were in discussion with potential investors to establish renewable energy plants.

“We anticipate establishing 4 by 5megawatts of solar in the next two to three years,” he said.

“We are also carrying out feasibility studies on two locations where we are reinforcing these potential for hydro power plants.

“Last year we signed a power purchase agreement with an investor who will develop three hydro power plants in the Namosi area. The total capacity of the power plants of 52MW and energy output of 120million units per annum.”
