ENERGY Fiji Limited is looking at constructing more hydro dams to meet the growing demand for electricity among Fijians.

This was confirmed by EFL Chairman Daksesh Patel who said that apart from a new 5MW solar grid that would be installed in the western side of main land Viti Levu, EFL was already in consultation to have another hydro dam.

The Fiji Times understands a new 30MW hydro-dam is expected to be established in Namosi, with consultation still underway.

Mr Patel said they would want to ensure that proper discussion and processes were followed before the dam was constructed.
