PONI Amo was the toast of the U17 rugby team of Lelean Memorial School after scoring the winning try against Queen Victoria School in the dying minutes of the game at the Sila Central High School in Nausori.
The Davuilevu battalion were down 3-0 after the half time in the round two of the Eastern Zone Secondary Schools Rugby Union competition.
Both sides each touched down a converted try in the second half of the game.
However, it was Amo who proved too strong for the Matavatucou boys breaking their defence and finally scoring the try that made the difference.
The final score was 12-10.
Host Sila Central High School is now playing St John’s College in the U15 grade.
