FIJI Airways Fiji 7s flyers Samisoni Viriviri and Eroni Sau are expected to join the team in London later this week after arriving from Vanuatu to sort out their France visas. The duo depart the country this morning as Fiji chases its fourth HSBC World Sevens Rugby Series title at the London and France 7s tournaments.

Head coach Gareth Baber said it was unfortunate to depart without the duo yesterday but was confident the dilemma would not affect the team’s campaign.

“They are coming back from Vanuatu today (yesterday) and there has been distractions but the boys know it and they will carry on with the job at hand,” he said.

“The two will join the team in London tomorrow.”

Baber said he had made some adjustments to the team with the selection of Jasa Veremalua, Samisoni Viriviri and Apenisa Cakaubalavu to replace Isake Katonibau, Terry Tamani and Keponi Paul.

“My job here is to see the team right up to the Olympics. “It’s obvious we will lose some players after the world cup and I need to blood in new players and take them to also see what is going on.

“Sometimes they don’t necessarily take part in the tournament but that is based on my decision to win tournaments and I want to see some of these boys have the experience before we lose some senior players to overseas contracts,” he added.

Meanwhile, utility Sevuloni Mocenacagi has fully recovered from the chest injury he sustained at the Singapore 7s and would be back to reclaim his spot in the first 13 team for the London 7s.
