Dropouts get second chance

Update: 4:32PM SCHOOL dropouts who are members of the Labasa District Youth Council received support for an alterntive future today.
Labasa District Youth Council administrator Shalendra Vishwa said eight members were now enrolled in vocational centres at Naqere in Savusavu and Naleba Vocational Centre in Labasa.
“This is an opportunity for youths to continue their studies at the University of the South Pacific with a diploma level,” he said.
Mr Vishwa said youths would also be able to find jobs after they graduate.
“Most of these youths drop out from high school at year nine and year ten levels and have given up on going back to school,” he said.
