THE 19-year-old man who allegedly caused the death of a seven-year-old girl from Tamavua-i-wai following a motor vehicle accident last Saturday has been charged with one count of murder.
According to a statement issued by Police this morning, following a review of the elements of the case the investigators have decided to charge the accused with murder.
The alleged accident occurred at the junction of Foster Road and Tamavua-i-wai after 8pm last Saturday.
The man reported the matter at the Delainavesi Police Post whereby officers and bystanders removed the victim and rushed her to the CWM Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
The accused is expected to be produced at the Suva Magistrates Court today.
