THE Dreketi football team has yet to engrave their name on the Fiji FACT trophy.

The Fiji FA says the side are no longer minnows of the Premier division after creating some major upsets in past tournaments and Vodafone Premier League.

And for sure, the Northern underdogs would be aiming for their first Vodafone Fiji FACT title this year.

Coach Johan Leewai has worked hard to build a strong side with mixture of some experience and youth players.

The Northerners will rely on the experience of former Rewa defender Usaid Tadu, former Labasa and national midfielder Thomas Vulivuli and former Rakiraki rep Daniel Dass and Peni Sokia.

Over the past seasons in top level football, Dreketi has probably learnt the lesson that long term success comes from building their own set of players.

There can be surprise packages at the 2018 Vodafone Fiji FACT if they turn some magic from last year’s appearance.
